Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricky Larkin.
Hi Ricky, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
Wasatch LC started in 2012 with one high school-aged boy’s team and the goal of providing lacrosse players from Utah an opportunity to get exposure to college coaches across the country.
Our program has made a name for ourselves competing on the east coast of the United States, where lacrosse originated, and where the best programs in the world are located.
As player interest has grown in Utah, so have we. We now have two high school boys teams and one high school girls team.
In 10 years as a program, we have sent over 150 student-athletes on to play at the collegiate level at schools such as Rutgers University, University of Utah, BYU, Westminster College, University of Vermont, Mount Olive, Colorado Mesa University, Regis University, Southern Virginia University, Belmont Abbey College, and many others.
Our program boasts one of the most followed social media accounts for high school club lacrosse with over 10,000. Give us a follow: @WasatchLC.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The struggle for us is that we are playing the best teams in the country and are still looking for some marquee wins to really help propel our program to the next level.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Our program is run by two full-time high school teachers who were born and raised in Utah, the only club that can boast that claim.
We are proud of the fact that as people who grew up in Utah and went on to play college lacrosse, we can give players an opportunity to get the college exposure and recruiting knowledge we never received ourselves.
National Champions as players at Westminster College, we know what it takes for our players to make it as college lacrosse players. We provide elite-level coaching. Our staff has multiple former NCAA college coaches, and all of our coaches have played college lacrosse.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your ideas aren’t always going to be the best just because they are your own. Be open to suggestions and to change.

Having watched brothers Ricky and Danny Larkin play and grow lacrosse in Utah since their youth, I am proud of how they have reached out to the community and touched the lives of so many youth, boys and girls alike, and their families over the years. Nice interview.
